Meet the founder
Meet Sarah, Founder and Lead Science Tutor
Sarah has a Master’s degree in Chemistry from Oxford University and has supported students across Hertfordshire for over 15 years. Her approach combines clear explanations, carefully chosen questions and plenty of encouragement—helping students genuinely understand their subjects rather than simply memorising information.
Kestrel Tutors is a small, family-focused tutoring business. Sarah personally handpicks the tutors she works with, choosing experienced people who share her supportive, confidence-building approach. Sarah’s Cambridge-educated mum is her Maths tutor of choice, while her wider network allows Kestrel Tutors to offer trusted support across a range of subjects.
Lessons are shaped around each student, whether they are aiming for top grades, rebuilding their confidence or trying to master a topic that has never quite clicked.
We frequently support students with dyslexia, ADHD and other additional learning needs, adapting the pace, structure, explanations and resources to suit each individual.
